Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a natural emotional reaction to a deeply shocking and disturbing event or experience in a person life, where they have felt a threat to their life or someone else’s life.
The symptoms an individual can experience are quite commons (Sleep disturbances, involuntary recall to the event, memory disturbances, difficultly concentrating, hypervigilance, hypersensitivity, irritability and anger, aches and pains, feelings of nervousness and anxiety.)
PTSD can be caused by a road traffic accident (RTA), Child birth experience (for either mum, dad or attending health care professional), pregnancy loss, grief, medical trauma, Covid-19 experience, medical negligence, sexual assault, bullying, bereavement, divorce, abuse, crime, accident survivor, survivor or a terrorism event, witness to a traumatic event…this list is not exclusive and anyone who feels they may be traumatised by a specific event may benefit from help for PTSD.
How I help clients with PTSD is in a very gentle way.
During the Initial Consultation, you may wish to disclose the details of why you are coming to see me, you may not, this is absolutely up to you. What I do not wish to do is re-traumatise you and so we will progress very gently to work towards your desired outcome and free you of the involuntary recall so you can move forward from the experience and be free from the symptoms you are experiencing and living your life.
